Secondary Science Teacher for Children & Young People in hospital

The opening of the new regional Child and Young People Mental Health Services hospital, Red Kite View, has enabled us to offer this exciting position as a Secondary Science Teacher in the Medical Needs Teaching Service (MNTS). The successful candidate will contribute to outstanding teaching and learning in this custom-built provision, due to open autumn 2021, in addition to having the opportunity to deliver learning across our service.

We are seeking to appoint an individual with a vision and drive for education, who is motivated to develop our science offer; an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality education to children and young people with medical needs.

The successful candidate will be:

• an experienced, enthusiastic and creative teacher of science

• able to work constructively with other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team

• able to contribute to the MNTS whole service vision

The MNTS is a service commissioned by Leeds Local Authority through a Service Level Agreement with the East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre, and the MNTS delivers learning in four settings across Leeds.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments will be to the Medical Needs Teaching Service which is part of the East SILC and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference check.
