Attention Autism Parent talk and Staff training23 Apr 2017Attention Autism Parent talk and Staff trainingOn 30th-31st April the East SILC were delighted to welcome Gina Davies, Speech and Language therapist, who specialises in working with children with Autism. She presented to the Yorkshire Learning Disability Clinical Excellence Network which was attended by more than 25 Speech and Language therapists from across Yorkshire. She then very kindly provided a parent talk in the evening where she showed how the Attention Autism programme can be used at home.

On the Friday she delivered training to 45 staff from across the East SILC, some colleagues from the North West SILC, and Speech and Language therapists working in Leeds. Staff came away from the training inspired and knowing how they could use the programme across the curriculum with a range of learners with and without Autism.  We are hoping to further extend the programme throughout the East SILC.

Many thanks to Gina- we hope we can welcome her back in the near future!
