Measuring the Impact of the Assessment Service

The online survey has been designed to capture both the impact of the assessment process and to determine if improvements could be made to the format of the assessment. To date there has not been a single suggestion as to how the process could be improved. Feedback from the Children’s Occupational Therapy Team has been very positive and they strongly support the concept of multi-agency assessments.

“I have consistently found the Physical Difficulty and Medical Service to be very committed to student-centred assessment and support. Peter Fletcher in particular is highly invested in multiagency working and always makes the effort to work jointly with occupational therapy colleagues.

The Physical Difficulty and Medical Service has provided invaluable support to many students across the city. The assessment reports are always focused on feasible, practical solutions for overcoming barriers and including students in educational activities.”
Jen McAnuff, Lead Children’s OT.

“I am always contacted for advice and to inform me an assessment has been requested, and offered the opportunity to do joint working for the best needs of the child.”
Jo Filby, Children’s OT.

Feedback from Teachers and SEND colleagues

"Working with Peter Fletcher has been of huge benefit to the children in school as through him we were able to visit the East SILCand see the ICT equipment in use first hand. From that starting point school has been able to make informed judgements about what we should purchase and identify individual children who will benefit from this provision. The final assessment report is excellent and very well presented using pictures and providing further advice. It will be a joy for parents."
Lynda Gration, SENCo, New Bewerley Community School.

“Very thorough assessment with the child's needs fully taken into account. Also practical advice given regarding how to get the best out of the equipment suggested. Lots of ideas for programs and how they could be used. Very informative. Thank you.”Maria Van Dam, SENCo, Chapel Allerton Primary School.

“Fantastic and speedy process from when Peter first picked up the referral,to her assessment and then the final report. The pupil will now be able to access much more of her literacy lessons.”
Dawn Dickinson, SENCo, Greenhill Primary School.

"The assessment was carried out in a wonderfully sensitive but professional manner which put the student at ease."
Helen Biggs, SENCo, Leeds Jewish Free School.

“Quick response time to request for assessment. Assessment was tailored to get the best out of the young person and put them at their ease. The young person enjoyed the assessment and was keen to continue! The report written is extremely useful and detailed.”
Dr Sharon Ladak, Leeds Educational Psychology Team.
