Teaching School

We feel privileged to have been one of the first seven special schools to be designated as a national Teaching School in 2011; this was an acknowledgment of our commitment to work collaboratively with other school leaders and staff to improve outcomes for children and young people. Since then our Alliance of partners (The Yorkshire Inclusive Teaching School Alliance) has grown steadily and to now include over 50 schools and colleges of all phases and types as well as the Local Authority, Bradford College, Leeds Beckett University and Leeds University. We believe that we have a moral purpose to promote peer to peer support, develop skills and expertise in practising teachers, spotting and developing talent and encouraging them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
