East SILC makes the National Voice Box Joke Competition Final20 Jun 2017East SILC makes the National Voice Box Joke Competition FinalCongratulations to Aryaan, one of our High School students, who took part in the National Joke Box Competition at the Houses of Parliament in March. Aryaan was an absolute credit to the school and did a fantastic job telling his joke in front of the judges, parents and carers, other finalists, and MPs from around the country. Aryaan's joke was:

  • What do you call a fish with no eyes?
  • A fssshhhhhhhh!

Ellie Colman, Speech and Language therapist, is already planning our next joke competition. Fingers crossed we can get the East SILC to the finals again in 2018!

Voice Box is an annual national joke competition for mainstream and specialist schoolchildren, designed to raise awareness of the fun and importance of communication in a light-hearted and inclusive way. It is a joint initiative from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and The Communication Trust (TCT) and is held concurrently in England, Scotland and Wales.
