These four images were taken by two Year 10 pupils at Grafton Learning Centre with a keen interest in photography and a real talent! These images were all taken to illustrate the urban and rain-forest themes. We were very pleased with the "urban" bumble bee on a this shot - who says thistles are weeds! It was taken with a close up macro lens which allowed the pupil to get so close. Note how the very shallow plane of focus gives a pleasingly defocused background. Also loving the urban street shots of the road lines and sign posts - taken with a very wide angle lens to give a crazily wide point of view along with the lines that lead the views eye to a point in the distance. Finally - the wonderfully exotic venus fly trap - another close up macro shot. Notice the luscious green and red colours to attract the insects and the 'trigger hairs on the inside of the trap!
