HOWZAT!

(March 2009)
The school table cricket team competed in the regional competition held at Headingley Cricket ground on 4th March. Everyone tried extremely hard and had a lot of fun! We came 4th, which is a great result and we just missed out on qualifying for the final at Lords – better luck next time! We are looking to buy a new kit for our various sports teams. If anybody would like to sponsor us, please contact June Wilson.

NORTHERN BALLEY THEATRE WORKSHOP

(March 2009)
Northern Ballet Theatre joined KS3 on Monday 3rd March for an exciting workshop based on ‘Peter Pan’, as part of their English work. Staff and pupils worked extremely hard to create imaginative mini-performances for each other to enjoy. Everyone really enjoyed the day, and we would like to pass on our thanks to Northern Ballet!

WACKY HAT DAY

(March 2009)
Wacky Hat Day saw pupils and staff wearing all sorts of creations on their heads – we had pirates, giraffes, witches, cowboys, sombreros, chefs, elves, crocodiles, jesters, chickens, cakes, firemen, cats, dogs, frogs, pineapples, and even a rubbish bin! The day was a great success, and the school raised £74.56 to donate to St. Gemma’s Hospice. A big thank you to everyone who took part!

RECORD BREAKERS!

(February 2009)
Thanks to all pupils and parents/carers who went to the ice-rink at Millennium Square in Leeds City Centre on Thursday 26 Feb. A few of our pupils took part in the event last year, just missing out on the world record. This year, we took a minibus to the rink, and many parents/carers kindly provided transport for their own children. The officials counted 106 wheelchairs on ice, and the world record was broken! Congratulations!!!

Investors In People

We have recently been redesignated for Investors In People. We were first awarded with Investors In People in 1999 and have been redesignated every three years since then.

We have obtained the Active SportsMark in January 2009.
