Aim of the school

Curriculum

The curriculum offered is broad, balanced and relevant and includes full National Curriculum entitlement. It is planned and delivered in an innovative and flexible manner ensuring that the needs of each pupil are taken into account and that progression takes place. At 16, many students follow nationally accredited schemes such as Youth Awards etc., etc.

Professional Expertise

Enthusiastic and experienced staff are committed to ensuring that pupils realise their full potential. We work closely with many specialist teams involved in the health and well-being of our pupils.

It is our belief that a professional and positive ethos is crucial when working with children and young people.

Parents as Partners

We place great value on developing a meaningful partnership with parents and carers. We are fortunate in having interested and supportive parents which include a very proactive parents group that meets regularly.

We operate a genuine open door policy ---- but ask parents, where possible, to let school know if they intend to visit.

A Positive Choice

By being innovative and continually searching for creative practise, whilst keeping the needs of the pupils at the centre of our focus, John Jamieson, the East SILC, continues to develop as a dynamic school which offers a positive choice for each child and their family.

The school has been proud to achieve

These achievements reflect our continuous strive to offer the best education for our children and young people.
